Unit Price Comparator
Compare two to four packs using the same unit. A lower unit price can still mean a higher checkout total. Make sure the products are suitable substitutes before comparing.
How this calculation works
Total quantity is the number of packs multiplied by the quantity per pack. The price is for the complete purchase; it is not multiplied by the pack count again.
Weight is normalized to grams, US liquid volume to milliliters, and count to individual units. A pound is exactly 453.59237 g; a weight ounce is 28.349523125 g; a US liquid gallon is 3785.411784 mL; a US fluid ounce is exactly 1/128 of that gallon.
The comparison uses exact, unrounded prices. Changing the display denominator does not change the ranking. Two options show a percentage relative to the higher unit price; three or four options show the lowest set without a group savings percentage.
A worked example
Hypothetical: $12.80 for 8 packs of 200 sheets is $0.80 per 100 sheets. $13.50 for 12 packs of 150 sheets is $0.75 per 100 sheets: a 6.25% lower unit price, but a $0.70 higher checkout total.
What this estimate does not include
- Weight and liquid volume cannot be mixed. A weight ounce is different from a US fluid ounce.
- This tool does not infer concentration, usable yield, product quality, shelf life, waste, or shipping and taxes you have not entered.
- Free options can have a zero unit price. If both are free, the percentage difference is not applicable.
